How to Make Cherry Delight Dessert
Step 1: Prepare the Graham Cracker Crust
Crush the Graham Crackers: Start by placing the graham crackers in a food processor or a large ziplock bag. Use a rolling pin to crush them into fine crumbs.
Mix the Crust Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Stir until everything is well combined and the mixture holds together when pressed.
Press the Mixture into a Pan: Transfer the graham cracker mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish or similar-sized pan. Press down firmly with the back of a spoon or your hands to create an even layer.
Chill the Crust: Place the crust in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the creamy filling.
Step 2: Make the Cream Cheese Filling
Beat the Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Add Powdered Sugar and Vanilla: Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue beating until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Fold in the Whipped Topping: Gently fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture, stirring until it is fully incorporated and the filling becomes light and fluffy.
Step 3: Assemble the Dessert
Spread the Cream Cheese Mixture: Take the chilled graham cracker crust out of the refrigerator and evenly spread the creamy filling over the crust. Use a spatula to smooth it out to the edges.
Top with Cherries: Spoon the cherry pie filling (or fresh cherries, if you prefer) over the cream cheese filling. Spread it evenly across the top to cover the entire dessert.
