Step-by-Step Directions
Preparation
Slice the Kielbasa:
Cut the kielbasa into bite-sized slices.
Chop the Vegetables:
Chop the cabbage, dice the potatoes, and chop the onion. Mince the garlic cloves.
Cooking
Saute the Kielbasa:
Set your Instant Pot to the sauté setting and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove the kielbasa and set aside.
Cook the Vegetables:
Add the chopped onion to the Instant Pot and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add Remaining Ingredients:
Add the chopped cabbage, diced potatoes, browned kielbasa, chicken broth, water, paprika, and caraway seeds (if using) to the Instant Pot. Stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Pressure Cook:
Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 10 minutes. Once the cooking time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure.
Serve:
Open the lid and give the soup a good stir. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or dill if desired.
